TREMOR Barcelona celebrations at the Nou Camp after historic victory over PSG caused an EARTHQUAKE

CELEBRATIONS after Barcelona’s dramatic late surge to defeat PSG in the Champions League caused an EARTHQAKE in the city.
The Spanish side produced perhaps the greatest comeback of all-time to fightback from a 4-0 first-leg defeat.
Barca triumphed 6-1 on the night, with three goals in the final seven minutes, to clinch an astonishing 6-1 victory and a 6-5 aggregate win.

However, the sheer joy and jubilation of the Nou Camp that Sergi Roberto’s last-ditch winner produced actually caused a trembling underground.
That’s according to seismologist Jordi Diaz, who claims that the celebrations caused “a tiny earthquake.”
The seismometer, installed at the Institute of Earth Sciences Jaume Almera, about 500 meters from the football stadium, recorded the “the biggest vibration of this type registered until now” by the device, which has been there for five years ago.

The second and third goals for Barca appeared on the seismometer with the amplitude slightly higher than normal, according to Diaz.
Naturally, the atmosphere cooled down after PSG scored, so the fourth and fifth goals by Neymar were barely celebrated.
But when the sixth, and eventual winner, hit the net it was the “the apotheosis”, according to Diaz.
The vibrations generated by the rhythmic movement of the crowd are transmitted as seismic waves.
Diaz measures these in football matches, but also in concerts at the Nou Camp.
